I have been keeping a close eye on the Alexa rank (among others rankings) of this site since I joined 2 months ago. Since signing up, I've seen it climb from 100k to 66k (today). That is a staggering amount of growth in such a short period of time. Especially for a community that does not use any traditional means of monetization.

Keep in mind that the data from Alexa literally mostly just comes from people who download and use their browser toolbar, which isnt that many people really. Their stats can be wildly inaccurate

We have been growing a lot though. Here are some quick actual stats from the past few months:

  • May: 19,000 visitors
  • June: 38,000 visitors
  • July: 73,000 visitors
  • August: 112,000 visitors
  • September (so far): 55,000 visitors

  :)
