It was just announced today on local news, that Las Vegas will soon receive its 1st BTC ATM machine.

The machine will be in a high foot traffic area on Las Vegas Boulevard (The Strip)

I will take some pics and post them here after its installed.

I used the BTC ATM at 'The D' in downtown Las Vegas almost 2 months ago. What is being annouced is the first BTC ATM on the strip.

You are correct. I guess the big diference here is, that no one even knows the ATM in the D is there..because no one goes to the D :o)

This one will have thousands of people a day walking by it, and seems great for a nice opportunity for average people to explore BTC.

What were the fees of the machine you used at the D? What the experience seemless and user friendly?

Robocoin is a bit of a hassle and expensive, but it eventually worked. The first time I tried it it set my withdrawal limit to 0 dollars which irked me. I contacted the guys running the ATM and they said it was probably out of cash. Sure enough the next day it worked fine. (The machine really should tell you if it out of cash instead of making that such a mystery.)

You can also pay for hotel rooms, gift shop items or for food in the excellent second story diner at 'The D' with bitcoin. I paid for my lunch with BTC once which was very cool. I have no reservations about recommending that place as it may be the very best downtown diner. Sadly state law only allows you to buy ganbling chips or cards with U.S. Dollars or U.S. Dollar demoniated credit cards and so the BTC ATM is the only choice if you want to gamble with your BTC.

Where, in Vegas? I know we had some really awesome electrical storms a few days ago, but i didnt hear about an ATM getting blown up.
