How do you keep your CounterWallet password safe? I wish I would have realized in the beginning and I would have created my own 12 words I could remember. I could write it down on paper of course, but to be honest I wouldn't trust myself to keep up with it. So, looking for ideas and tips.

you can save it to txt document and encrypt it or if not try the program keysrcambler , it encrypts every symbol you write in the internet , i use it for 2 years , and even you are infected with virus like keyloger, its impossible to steal from you this 12 words :)
hope i helped!

I too use LastPass. I've been using it for years. It is a great service.

Write to a file and encrypt it, then put a copy somewhere on the net. Should be plenty safe for a wallet that's not worth all that much.

Creating an encrypted file containing your 12 word seed is a safe way to go about security I believe.
If you use Ubuntu open terminal and run the following command:
-vim -x filename.txt
You might have to install vim if it isn't already done, your terminal should prompt you to do so.
This command will prompt you for a password which is used both for encryption and decryption.
Write your 12 words here and then hit SHIFT+Z+Z to save and close. You can reopen your file anytime by typing:
vim filename.txt
You will be asked for your password.

I printed it out and put it in my sock basket. Now I have to burn that copy and print a new copy to bury out in the forest. I also have a lot of trees so i could carve it into a bay tree since I don't really like them. I did grow a field of corn and mowed the words into it. In case of Alien comprehension I translated it into pig latin and cut it up with scissors.

I have no clue. the 12 words is not something I can even type in without making a mistake so the only way for me to do this is to save in a file and copy and paste.
key thing for me here is to not have any value that i would cry over if hacked.
if u have 12 words u can remember easy that are safe i'd suggest to just sweep all ur stuff over to that.
The 12 word password is in my mind one key aspect why CP has a usability issue (other one is speed). Its hard to remember 12 words and its impossible to use counterparty on a mobile devices.

+1 for lastpass. Also I was thinking I might put it in a text file and encrypt it with Axcrypt (its free and works), then upload encrypted file to cloud storage (using box.com for now, will use storj.io as soon as its online). Of course that leaves me with the problem of having to remember the encrypt/decrypt password for Axcrypt ...

Very nice, thanks for your input!
I'll probably check out LastPass. Looks like it would be useful for a lot of things besides BTC.
And at $12/year, what a good price.
