Not necessarily directly being held, but if you were to calculate net worth I am sure somewhere in there you would find some BTC. How much BTC do you think? Don't want to play Warren Buffet? How about George Soros or David Rockefeller?

It's probably 0 across the board. At this point, the only people that own bitcoin, directly own bitcoin. Warren Buffet has voiced his (lack of) understanding of bitcoin and although he owns large shares in a lot of businesses, that does not make him owner of bitcoin. I could buy tons of shares of Overstock, but that wouldn't make me own anymore bitcoin even though they are involved in bitcoin. The companies profits may show an increase if the company is holding bitcoin as an investment, but even then they would see profit through an increase in share price and never directly in bitcoin.

Warren Buffet has come out many times to say that no investor should ever invest in something that he/she does not understand. It's what kept him out of the dot-com bubble and many other situations that could have burned him terribly.

I believe that he has also come out to say that he doesn't understand bitcoin...At all. Which would lead me to believe that he doesn't hold any.

Why wouldn't owning overstock mean you own some bitcoin? Overstock holds bitcoin and if you own shares of overstock you own a slice of an entity that holds bitcoin.

Perhaps billionaires don't claim to be the major investors bitcoin due to the fact that do not want to inflate the price and buy it at a low price now with the prospect of subsequent profits. We see that in the long-term trend rate Bitcoin-crypto constantly grows, so do not think that the rich are not paying attention crypto world, it would be short-sighted on their part. On the other hand understand that he bitcoin cannot replace conventional currency, because it has long time of the transaction. I suppose that this question should be solved by the creation of high-tech crypto, which would be a true breakthrough in the field crypto money and conquer the financial world. Peace.

I introduced Peter Buffet http://www.peterbuffett.com/ Warren Buffet's son to Bitcoin last year, and although he seemed open to it, the desire for understanding a new paradigm was non existent. Since then things may have changed, and it may have come up over dinner conversation. I want to check back, and I suggest others may want to learn of the good work Peter is involved with.

@Mike I agree with Warren Buffet, as an investor it is better not to invest until you got an understanding of what you are investing in because investing is calculated risk gambling.

Im sure if he is holding a bunch. He wouldn't want to public to know how much he really is holding onto.

I doubt he would be holding any. As mentioned above he has a real aversion to tech companies. He goes for very simple business models that he can understand inside and out.

To those of you speculating he's not telling anybody for the reason of "not wanting to inflate the price" I doubt that. If he was holding them he'd want to be doing everything he can in order to inflate the price. If he wanted to wait till he bought more then he'd just buy more.

    0% chance IMO

Warren Buffet may make great returns - but why the hero worship - He is as much if not more of an insider as the rest of Wall Street, if not more. He also has as much to lose as the rest when Crytocurrencies offer real competition.

Maybe he has bought some Bitcoin as an insurance policy?
