the larger the number of coins, the larger the number of transactions ( not necessarily proportionally more). do we really need the heavier block chain that 510 M would make as opposed to 51 M coins? It might be OK to let of of a few 1 coin transactions instead!

510M seems about right. I think billions of coin would be unnecessary since this coin serves a specific community. It's big enough to make spending trivial.

510M is good . 51M might be too few . actually it depends on whether Adam plans to make it divisible as an asset.

I think 51M is good for divisible and 510M is good for a non divisable asset.

has the thought about removing the like a post function and increasing the issuance size to get things circulating crossed your mind? then posters could be rewarded by liking with a actual reward coin- and it would promote posting and or tipping right away

Half-a-billion will be decent enough to distribute in the beginning and then throughout the next couple years.

How did the number 51 come up in this conversation? Was that something planned by Adam?Makes me think of 51% which isn't the best.

51 was stated as a very lucky number, and I was already thinking about 50 as the basis number so we moved to that.
Right now the number is 510 million and they are divisible.
