I'm eyeing "Markdown Pro" in Mac App store. Does anyone have a favorite or one which is known to work best with LTB Network?

Also, beware, Microsoft Word (on Mac) did not copy-paste well into markdown as single quotes were really apostrophes. Single and double quotes just disappeared.

These might be overkill for your needs but take a look at sublime text and text mate

I suggest the almighty Sublime Text. With this guide (even though it's quite old) you can start playing with it and check a few add-ons specifically built for markdown: http://www.macstories.net/roundups/sublime-text-2-and-markdown-tips-tricks-and-links/
