@rotalumis Is it possible to select editors or articles that are ready are assigned at random to the editors?

    Hi @jratcliff63367,

I'm editing "A History of Zombie Events." You say at the end that you're including "two quick charts," but I only see one. Is one missing?

    Thanks. Cheryl

I assumed I'd get an email notification when you responded (which I get from Trello), but I guess I have to come directly to the site and check. I don't see an email option in the notifications. I wonder whether it could be added. Either we need an LTB app, or I'm getting too dependent on push notifications!

So sorry! I thought you hadn't responded, and it turns out, it was me. It got published, anyway. Interesting post!

How do we convert a Google Docs to Markdown?

I tried following the instructions here http://lifehacker.com/this-script-converts-google-documents-to-markdown-for-e-511746113

    but no luck :(

This is o.k. https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/markdown-pastr/pjeclabeidkcjhopjbgpiimlaccpdkgk?hl=en but it inserts weird symbol whenever it picks up a "space" in Google Doc...

I think the answer is that I should have selected WYSIWYG and copy pasted from Google Docs--- at least i'll try that next time...

Pasting from Google Docs into the wysiwyg editor creates all sorts of issues with the formatting that are not easy to fix afterwards because the HTML you end up with is horrendous at best. I personally would like to phase out the wysiwyg editor at some point. The Markdown editor we are currently using on the site seems to be planning to add wysiwyg functionality.

In the meantime (and until I get hold of a good external Markdown editor), I'm composing the Markdown directly in Google Docs. It's quite straightforward once you get used to it. You have to watch out for special characters like smart/curly quotes and em dashes, though, because they won't show up and need to be replaced by the regular versions.

I hope you don't phase out the WYSIWYG editor @rotalumis, it lets me paste in HTML in directly using that "Source" button on the top right. I doubt many people actually work in that tiny box, I suspect most of us just want to paste in and save.

I write straight up text, then add very minimal markup by hand, and paste it in. Last thing I want is to have to use some editor, or work online in a little box. I'll adapt as needed, but the less I have to, the better :)

Noted. Though it would still be the same workflow to write straight text and add the formatting in Markdown.
