YouTube has said this was coming, and now viewers can tip creators (YouTube takes 5% plus $0.21 from the tipping amount).

But @Adam B. Levine has been talking about YouTube tipping for over a year (using Bitcoin, of course). Do you think Adam influenced Google/YouTube to add the new tipping feature?

    I highly doubt it.

    @thewittyhawk I highly doubt it.

    Have you even seen Adam's video(s) on the topic? I can't help but think he had a >1% influence on the decision-making process to add that feature.

    Maybe the slightest inkling but I have a feeling they have been wanting to do tipping / direct monetization for a long while.

    With a Video/Speech "Youtube is Broken" I would think so

    At 5% + $0.21, I'm betting that they are actually raking in more than the average tip amount.

    I bet you are right. If the tip amounts are similar to what I have seen on reddit, youtube should be raking in plenty :)

    This feature doesn't look to be live right now. Google seems to be beta testing it with a few select user content creators. Keep an eye out for it.
