Cryptonaut

Hey everyone

Looking to have somebody create a better guide to markdown formatting. Below the "Live Preview" box, if you click on "See formatting guide", it will slide open to show you how to do some basic formatting.

The current guide is a nice start, but its also incomplete (missing things like line breaks, tables etc.) . Looking for a more fleshed out guide that is well written and complete with examples. You may use the existing guide as a starting point.

Submissions can be made via a Google Drive document or similar

Additionally, I am offering an extra 15K LTBcoin for every language translation made for the new formatting guide (not the existing one).

I'm surprised this hasn't got more attention. I'm happy to work on the 'definitive guide' over the next few days and post something by Sunday.

It is perfect man! I as soon as you have that it will turn out, I'll take the translation into Russian.

@paolo09 Hope you don't mind posting the link to the google doc that you have started (or getting me to post it). In the mean time, if anyone thinks of anything they can post here. This will keep the google doc from getting to cluttered for now. Maybe majority of conversation can happen here, then one or a few people can make edits to the google doc which you can verify before publishing.

New related to the many modes of markdown: http://blog.codinghorror.com/standard-markdown-is-now-common-markdown/

Which leads me to wonder which Markdown format are we using?

Which markdown should we be using / do we *really need to change? Or can some higher functions, like tables, be left aside?

    Hyper linking names

Not sure if anyone has notices that sometimes names don't get hyperlinked and you are forced to use the following:

    the source code:

< a name="eshriek">I am me< /a> results in: I am me I *think that this works for some names? but not others. Here it does not work. I'm testing with @eshriek which works. but sometimes, like @Hesham_3del ,it does not work. However, in a recent post I used @Matt (aka JEDI?) without using markdown and it worked. This could simply be a mistake on my part. Something I'm keeping an eye on. TLDR; why does @Hesham_3del not work while @Matt does work in terms of hyperlinking to their user profile?

very interesting link, especially was funny to read the comments to the "public apology" letter. The document is done and the italian translation too, unless @cryptonaut want to add something more is better to wait for him, otherwise he might be ready to publish it and we are still discussing/changing the docs :)

Not sure exactly. It looks like his profile page removes the underscore: http://letstalkbitcoin.com/profile/user/hesham3del Also, when you quote one of his comments the underscore is automatically removed and becomes @hesham3del instead of @hesham_3del Gremlins in the system :)
