So months ago I brought some XRP then forgot about it, as I tend to do that with coins that I think might have some potential in the future. So a few days ago my attention was drawn to it again as the price had gone to 8000 sats, so I sold a third of my holdings, making back my initial investment with profit (That doesn’t happen with me too often with Alt-coins) so a Christmas bonus I get. ^-^
So having prioritised my much valued crypto time to look into Ripple a little further, still got a long way to go, but these “Gateways” which are used to move Dollar, Pounds or even Silver in and out of the Ripple network, I feel will be its Achilles heel. I mean sure Ripple Labs can have legal agreements and all, but if a company goes bust, for whatever reason, any agreements won’t matter, and then who loses out? Will Ripple compensate members who loose funds? If not maybe in future they will have to have an insurance fund? Not if, but when one of these “Gateways” tank, it will be interesting to see what happens to the price of XRP if only on a temporary basis. Maybe this has happened before and I haven’t heard,
I just want to put this out here, so someone with more knowledge of the matter might want to discus. What do you guys think?
