Android App for Monitoring LTBCoin Balance

I've been getting back into Android development again. As a quick project I've put together an App to monitor a configurable LTBCoin address for changes. Basically it runs in the background and uses blockscan.com to check the balance, generating a notification if the balance changes. The monitored address is configurable (obviously) and this can be achieved by scanning a QR Code. Update frequency is configurable from 15 minutes to 1 day to save battery and data where necessary. It is also configurable for WiFi only updates to reduce data chargers.

I wanted something for myself to monitor my balance but thought it might be of interest to people here. If people are interested I'll make it available here. I should be able to make it invite only via my Android Play Store account.

To be honest I could have made it monitor any asset visible to Blockscan.com but I can do this later, I'll keep playing around to see where it goes. The functionality is pretty much there but the interface needs tidying and I need to source an icon from somewhere. Hopefully it will be sorted during the weekend.

Thanks,

J

The app 'LTBCoin Monitor' should be available from the link below. It is in the Google Android Play Store but I have released it as a Beta rather than to the general public. Hopefully you can just use the link without the trouble of having to join my Google Group lostdroids. If the link doesn't work I'll do a full release if necessary. I'm trying to release this way to stop people who don't understand a test release and leave bad reviews.

    https://play.google.com/apps/testing/net.lostdroids.ltbcoinmonitor

When you have installed the app, start it and you will be presented with the main screen. Click the '+' button to scan the QR Code of your Counterparty Address which contains the LTBCoin you want to monitor. I know the button doesn't look too good but it was quick to do and can be sorted later.

Soon after the QR scan it should update with the balance and you will get a notification of this. You can just select the notification to clear it and then it will sit in the background monitoring for future changes. The default update frequency is 60 minutes and this can modified in the settings along with selecting WiFi only updates.

I think the app really needs to be a general Counterparty Asset Monitor. It can then display all your assets, probably with multiple addresses. I just started off wanting to know immediately how many LTBCoins I had received each week and thought this was a good way to see. I'll probably have a look at doing other assets during this week and may be some other changes like showing if the balance has increased or decreased.

    Thanks,

    J

erreip, it is now published to the Play Store but will take a few hours to become available. When a link is available I will publish it here. If you wish you can try searching in the market for LTBCOIN and you should find the app once it is available.

I only realised tonight that I should have originally posted this in the 'Project Development' category but I think it speak well of the people here that I didn't get a flaming for this mistake.

    Thanks, J

Good, glad people can find it.

I'm going to bed now but I've just finished a feature to display the value in BTC using Melotic for the price. I'll let this run on my device over night to make sure its stable and I'll upload to the Play Store tomorrow.
