  • Re: Auction transaction not confirming

    Great bidding war going on with this auction by the way today! I really enjoyed watching it, and was tempted to jump in myself. But I can't, for some reason, part with my LTBc.

  • Re: Company Releases Technology to Perform Off Ledger Transactions

    This is a fascinating conversation. Thanks guys, for some quality LTB content. So, my question: what is your guys' business model? How do you get paid?

    Make a TCV forum, then send one to the people who are your friends, then talk about secret stuff.

    I like to look for flaws in the system haha.

    Flaws in the system... The bitcoin world is full of them. Soooo many of them that I've encountered. This is where a lot of money is made (and lost), especially by the whales. Oh, to be a whale!

    Why do you want to be a whale? They lose so much money.

    I find it conceptually and sociologically fascinating, though (admittedly) morally ambiguous at best. But tell me, do you really think they lose more money than they make? A whale that looses too much money wouldn't stay a whale for long. Unless they have a huge stack of BTC from 2010.

  • Re: buying 10k LTBC for 3 XCP on DEX

    @rob Thanks for the report. My trades using Counterwallet months ago never went through. I gave up trying, just use an exchange now.

    With more and more exchanges starting to collected customer information (I assume due to pressure from at least the U.S. gov), I wonder if Counterparty is insulated from having to do this, with the decentralized exchange accessed by Counterwallet?

    How decentralized is the DEX, actually? It still has centralized servers, right? Or am I mistaken?

  • Re: Make some money as a whale

    @tintin I am sure some of you own a lot of LTBc, here is one strategy to make a killing(succes not guaranteed): First move all your coins to an exchange, poloniex for example, you will need about 0.5M first, and maybe another half million coins later.

    1m LTBc ≠ whale

  • Re: MELOTIC - now requires ID verification for ALL trades

    @coinadd1ct

    @lovebitcoins

    @coinadd1ct I for one certainly will not be sharing my ID.

    What alternatives exist for LTBc exchanges?

    Poloniex - I imagine they will be seeing a lot more volume on ltbc now. They are a much better exchange anyway, so it's for the best.

    https://www.poloniex.com/exchange/btc_ltbc

    Maybe Polo and the other exchanges will follow Melotic's lead. If Melotic is doing this for compliance reasons, then Polo might too. After all, it is apparently based in the United States as well.

    I need to correct myself here. Melotic is based out of Hong Kong, not the US.

  • Re: MELOTIC - now requires ID verification for ALL trades

    @irnhnve Counterparty's exchange is decentralized so maybe this will drive some LTBc volume there. It's a lot less steps if you dont have to trade out of your counterwallet, to an exchange, and back to your counterwallet.

    Less trading fees too.

    I think that the fees on the DEX may be slightly higher, although some of them are recoverable if you know how to do it (I don't, but I already have .11 BTC dust to recover if I did know). It is also not more convenient, as it takes really long for trades to go through, and they are not matched well. It's a really quirky exchange, but if you practice, you can find good deals there sometimes...
