  • Re: How is it that Poloniex can be a registered money service business and know not require any information from users?

    @cryptomatic

    @pooktwo

    @cryptomatic From the terms of their site:

    BSA / FinCEN

    Poloniex is registered with FinCEN as an MSB (Money Services Business), registration number 31000055869515. Poloniex may be required to file details of account activity to this organization from time to time.

    I've never had them ask for information even when withdrawing from my account. The only thing they required was an email address. They are also based in Whitefish, MT, USA so it just seems a little strange to me.

    It might have something to do with the fact that they are not dealing with any USD directly, but rather tokens that represent USD (XUSD).

    But I looked it up on FinCen and they are there, here is the search area http://www.fincen.gov/financial_institutions/msb/msbstateselector.html and just put in their MSB number 31000055869515 and you will see them

    Yup, they're listed as having activities of 'money transmitter' and 'other'. I wonder if things are going to change in terms of information they require from users when the bitlicense is finalized since NY is included as one of the states they do business in.

    Its still a grey area everyone is trying to figure out both on the crypto side and the government side

  • Re: LTB Podcast/Audience Stats?

    @adam

    @pooktwo @adam i am very excited for the information you just posted here. Keep up the good work, but try and enjoy your vacation ok? :D

    I'm very much enjoying myself, not being very productive at all.

    Very good :) Its well deserved to you my friend. Also speaking of podcasts, i sent an email to Steven and he got back to me already, but http://dogecoindark.net/radio/ is looking to be a LTB podcast. They are a 24 hour radio show, but at night they have live interviews that last really long. this is the show me and james went on a while back https://www.mixcloud.com/dogedradio/foldingcoin-interviewed-on-the-doged/ and they have many other guest who have come on https://www.mixcloud.com/dogedradio/

    We are also setting up another podcast with them for March 27th that will include the following people (its a counterparty panel):

    • Filip Martinka - Counterparty Rep
    • Chris DeRose - CP Foundation Rep
    • Jeremy Lam - Vennd
    • Robert Ross - FoldingCoin
    • Evo Ked - Storj Rep

    Their show is unique as they are really long discussions that are virtually open and normally an entire panel rather then 1 or 2 people.

    Also in the near future me and another guy named Jona Derks will be looking to do a podcast centered around Counterparty and wanted to see what we need to do to make these two happen.

  • Re: Would this work to minimize counterwallet fees?

    @adam

    @pooktwo

    @cryptonaut Unfortunately there isn't any way to send multiple amounts of multiple counterparty tokens to another address in one transaction, just because it's simply too much data to hold in a BTC transaction.

    If your able to use the command line interface instead, you could setup a local copy of bitcoind (which you already have if you are running bitcoin-qt), import your private keys into there. Then you can set up a local counterparty node on top of bitcoind and use the command line options to customize the fees.

    Example command:

    python3 counterpartyd.py --multisig-dust-size 0.00001 --regular-dust-size 0.00001 --fee 0.00001 send --source [source_address] --destination [destination_address] --asset [token name] --quantity [amount]

    you can make the fees pretty much as low as you want, as long as you don't mind waiting extra long for them to confirm.

    Is this something that could be implemented with the asset distributor as an option to make the fees lower? Like lets say there could be an option that allows you in the distributor to set your own fee you wish to pay?

    Fees are set platform-wide at the moment since they are fee instructions to the distributor, and the cost in the distributor is already about as low as we found it to be still reliable. In the future we will have multiple pricing models, per-tx fee for normal users and no or very low per tx fee for users with appropriate rolecoins

    Makes sense. Thanks :)

  • Re: how to get bitcoin ? and how it works ?

    @asep77 anybody can explain to me, what is exactly bitcoin? how to use bitcoin ? and how it works ? then what is the opportunity to have a lot of bitcoin in this real world .thank you for the reply.

    The best place to start is here https://bitcoin.org/en/

    If you aren't familiar with Bitcoin please take the time to read that site thoroughly if you have never heard anything about bitcoin. It does a good job for those not familiar to grasp a basic understanding of how the technology works. Once you are done, please come back and ask any question you would like :D

  • Re: [VOTE] We've made it , we're on BTER coin voting.

    @franckuestein

    @bernhard haha you are funny. its not the question were ltbc can be listed. its the question were ltbc will be accepted.

    I know… but to let exchanges accept LTBc we have to use, move and promote it ;)

    FLDC, SCJX, and XCP just got on Bittrex, maybe that should be the next exchange LTBC tries to get on as they have not had the recent bad publicity that bter has. I will send them an email
