  • Re: What's your favorite altcoin?

@gersin67 Nautilluscoin. Publicized by Brian Kelly of CNBC. Going to go over to Proof of stake soon. Will be sponsoring an MMA fight on Saturday.

I've been hearing about that one a lot lately. I am certainly going to have to check it out!

  • Re: What do you guys think of recent Gov. acceptance of Bitcoin?

A ban would likely be very difficult to implement as well. We've seen that as governments try to limit Bitcoin it simply forces people to move to outside exchanges.

I also would love to sit in on some of those behind close doors meetings where they discuss it though.

I wish the lobbyist for The Bitcoin Foundation provided more updates as to what they are doing.

  • Re: So who do you think won the auction?

@cryptonaut interesting development. will be cool to see what he actually does with that 30K coin :p

Completely agreed. He said he has already spent some of them using snapCard and a few other places :)

  • Re: What's your favorite altcoin?

@angrycanuck I like what the alt coins strive for. Example being Einsteinium coin which helps the foundation donate to scientific causes.

Line from main page http://einsteinium.org/ states:

"I feel incredibly privileged to be the very first awardee of The Einsteinium Foundation. The Einsteinium Foundation has provided me with essential support to advance my work on understanding the connections between molecular structures in Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) and EBV-associated diseases (e.g. Hodgkin's lymphoma and other deadly cancers)!"

Really, a good cause no matter how you look at it.

I really like the Gridcoin I believe it was called. The one tied with Folding@home.

Such a great idea and for such a great cause.

I feel Draper put it best when he said we need to see one coin see mass adoption before we can consider the other ones and it seems Bitcoin is best suited for that with the current mindshare it has.

Yeah, I think Bitcoin will be on top at least for a while and that's a good thing. I'm not trying to find its replacement, I just think there are some other interesting opportunities in the alt market, LTBcoin being one of them.

    Completely agree!

I really want to see even more innovative coins because it makes us all better.

  • Re: So who do you think won the auction?

@angrycanuck TBH it seems like this is a buyer that most people can get behind. From what he said hes looking to use bitcoin in emerging markets and he was an early backer of Hotmail, Baidu and Tesla Motors. So he has an idea of smart investments.

It could have been a lot worse I think.

Yeah, I am a big fan of Tim honestly. He is a great VC and is ready to put his coins to work. He said instead of hoarding them we need more transactions and I couldn't agree more.

@coinfire Watching the USMS auction just further solidified the US won't take a stance against it most likely. They wouldn't sell them as an asset just to ban it.

Yeah, I'm not so much worried about them banning it, but rather co-opting it and controlling it somehow. I know that there are tremendous hurdles to them being able to do such a thing, but that does not mean it is impossible IMHO. There was a time when society would have laughed at the silly notion that people would someday trade in their gold for paper.

A valid point indeed on the paper for gold. Now that paper has no gold backing it. How crazy far we've come.

  • Re: Bitcoin Twitter Lists

Thanks for putting that together! It's great!
