Re: Are JEDI's going to have their own secret language?
Just because I like a played out joke.. These aren't the words you're looking for.
Also, I'm sure we'll end up with a number of ways to distinguish JEDI from the rest. All in due time, gents.

Re: Is Mining worth it?
I agree with @crimsonroze above. There are many things to take into consideration. Especially your time horizon for selling the coins that you mine.
First and foremost is your electricity costs. More and more industrial miners are moving to areas of the globe that have essentially free internet. They pay below $0.02 USD per kilowatt hour. So they will gladly mine with revenue generation at $0.021 USD per kilowatt hour because they make a profit and it drives out other miners, thus lowering the increase in difficulty.
They also know what their time horizon is for selling out. Most miners have very distinct levels that they are waiting to sell at because they have their own ways of figuring out likely price points. In fact, many people that I've spoken to mine for a loss or breakeven today because they are waiting for the right time to sell which will lock in profits.
If you're in an electric haven, you have a good shot. If you've got "balls of steel" and are quite confident in your price floors for bitcoin in the coming months, you've got a decent shot.
All of this information comes with the following disclaimer: Never risk more than you can afford to lose.

@adampoulton I bid 25,000 LTBc.
I am bidding from Australia (Melbourne) and may miss some time deadlines due to being in the wrong time zone.
Any chance you could put a ticker displaying the current time in your location, or a note on your location and GMT conversion.
Cheers, Adam
Howdy Adam! This will land you in slot number two for the time being. Could you let me know what website/service you're bidding on behalf of?
The auction time is slated in PST, which I believe is GMT -8.00 right now.

Auction has approximately five more hours on it. Sorry for the short time on this one. I figured it was worth having a shorter auction if it meant people could be around due to the weekend. (I had some unexpected pressing matters to attend to, otherwise this would have been started sooner)

Sold, if they're interested in working with me. I enjoy running the auction that I do now, and am always looking for ways to get more involved. I started listening to Bitcoins and Gravy recently and have definitely enjoyed their program.

Up for auction are two (2) blocks of forty-five (45) second intervals in this coming week's second episode of Let's Talk Bitcoin! Episode #131 will be released on Tuesday the 29th, and whether or not your business/project will be a part of it is up to you.
Bidding will start at 10k LTBc.
This auction will end at 7:00 PM PST on Sunday, July the 27th. Any bids submitted after that time but before closure of the thread will not be considered. A bid on the close as logged by the post's official time stamp (in this case, 7:00 PM) is a valid bid, however one minute after (7:01) is not. The top two overall bids in the thread will be awarded slots 1 and 2, respectively.
What exactly am I bidding on?
The two slots fill scheduled breaks in the episode. Adam will do his own research on your business/project and will spend approximately 45 seconds talking about what you do. Adam reserves the right to veto any winning bids if he feels that doing a live read for your project would not be mutually beneficial. No scripts will be accepted. If you want him to focus on a particular area of your project, mention it with your bid.
Please state your bid in LTBc along with what project you are bidding on behalf of. (a link would be nice)
Please note that you will receive no editorial control for your winning bid. The live read will be approximately 45 seconds but no guarantees are made for it to be exactly that length of time.
What if I'm the winning bid?
After you receive confirmation that you have won, please remit payment in LTBc to the following address: 16mtsJE29zY5Rw2c4XunVFeg7DmbGedS9M
Payment will be expected by 11:59 PM PST of the day that the auction closes. If you cannot meet this deadline, please state so ahead of time. If we have not heard from you or received payment by then, we will assume that you are defaulting and your slot will be given to the next bidder in line.
What kinds of people sponsor the show?
Lots of people! Here are a few of our recent sponsors:
- Bitofthis LTB Ad Broker - http://www.bitofthis.com/ltb-advertising-broker.html
- Coin Fire - http://coinfire.cf/
- BitShares - http://bitshares.org/
- Myriad - http://www.myriadcoin.org/
- PRISMicide Hardware Wallet - Prismicide.com
- CoinsSource - http://www.coinssource.com/
- ShinyBadges - http://muslimagorist.com/products/shiny-badges

- Bitcoin Foundation - https://bitcoinfoundation.org/
- Crypto for Change Blog
- Bitcoin Megaphone - http://bitcoinmegaphone.com/
- Bitmain No-preorder ASICs - https://bitmaintech.com/
- You! (hopefully, anyway...)
But I'm new to LTB, I don't have any LTBcoin!
Well, you can purchase it from the private market currently either at Melotic (https://www.melotic.com/markets/ltbcoin-btc) or through a Counterparty Counterwallet (https://www.counterparty.co/ and https://counterwallet.co/).
There are also LTB ad brokers such as Bitofthis (@bcohen or http://www.bitofthis.com/ltb-advertising-broker.html) which, as you can see, is one of our previous sponsors! They will use their own LTBc reserves to bid on your behalf and the two of you can settle up in whatever currency you agree upon later.
Feel free to ask for clarification on any of the above points, or any other questions you may have in this thread. I will do my best to respond as quickly as possible.

Re: Wont the giving away of coins cause a downwards pattern in coin value?
That's only if people are actually selling. I think that there are actually a significant amount of people holding onto the coins because there hasn't been much volume on either exchange currently available.
But, what you have is a coin representing a network that is growing rapidly. So perhaps the value of the network is increasing faster than price can be pushed downwards. Also, it is infaltionary for a defined amount of time at which point it becomes deflationary which inherently encourages hoarding, so there may be a lot of us in this game for the long haul.
