Re: Let's Create a Process Flow
I'll be working on my own first pass of this during the week, but I think we could benefit from multiple efforts from different viewpoints.
Anyone else up for working on this?
For reference, here is a good presentation to reference as a starting point:

Let's Create a Process Flow
How exactly does the LTBcoin process work? What tools are needed by producers, advertisers and consumers?
Let's create a high-level overview document so that we can more easily see the big picture.
If there are holes in the process, let's point them out. If there are tools missing in the chain, let's identify them.Posted on May 5, 2014 at 5:56 PM

Re: LTBcoin paper wallet
Counterparty addresses are bitcoin addresses, since Counterparty is built on top of the Bitcoin protocol.
So any paper wallet that works for a bitcoin address will work for a Counterparty address.Posted on May 5, 2014 at 5:43 PM

Re: LTBcoin Content Bounties - Proposal
After stepping away from this for a week or so, I think we need to pare this back to an MVP and start there.
If the community uses the basic platform and likes it and starts clamoring for more features, then we've validated the idea and we can look at adding more features one at a time.
Test a feature -> measure response -> get feedback -> and start again.
This is the lean startup way and lends itself to building good software.
If we start with too much, I'm afraid it will not launch on time (if ever), and it will probably be the wrong thing. In my experience, when I try to guess what the customer wants, I'm usually surprised at how wrong I am.
So, what do you say? Can we come up with a lean, mean just-enough-to-be-useful plan to start?Posted on April 18, 2014 at 8:48 PM

Re: LTBcoin Content Bounties - Proposal
These are all good ideas. But we will need to make some decisions before we move ahead.
How do we move ahead? Should we continue discussing here?
I think a conference might be useful for brainstorming together. Would you like to get on a Google Hangout sometime and discuss?Posted on April 9, 2014 at 1:54 AM

Re: LTBcoin Content Bounties - Proposal
Great thoughts, @mmanvil74. The idea of centering the project around ACTs instead of around individual pieces of content is a compelling one.
One of the questions I've been asking myself the last couple of days is this:
Would any of the content that is currently being produced on the LTB network fall into this model?
And the answer I came up with is No, I don't think so. I believe podcasters, bloggers and content creators prefer to choose their own topics most of the time. And since a lot of the content is centered around news and recent events, this model doesn't make sense all of the time.
I think it comes down to this: What do we want to incentivize more?Great individual pieces of content? Or ACTs that produce an engaged audience over a long period of time?
The two are not mutually exclusive, of course. But I think #2 might be the more valuable outcome.
You said: I am just wondering if the system of backing, issuing assets, and options might be confusing for the participants if it was done for every idea rather than for each ACT.
My gut says this is likely. There are a lot of moving parts in the proposal as it stands now. I agree that we would benefit from a simpler process. Or at least one that is easier to understand.
I think the ideal solution is to allow the audience to be rewarded for both generating content ideas and funding ACTs. But I think the process has to be straightforward enough for the casual user to understand it almost immediately. And that is going to be a challenge!Posted on April 7, 2014 at 5:48 PM

Re: DEVELOPER REQUESTED for MVP: Pay-To-Display service
Here's a quick Update on this:
I'm to the point where I'm going to need the live counterparty network to be active in order to proceed.
There is no version of Blockscan for the counterparty testnet at this time. And the app will depend on Blockscan (or equivalent) to work.Posted on April 4, 2014 at 6:58 PM
