Re: [Brainstorm] A privacy-conscious social network with crypto-rewards
The more I think about this, the more I realize that we are building a lot of this right here.
The LTB community is an evolutionary step toward this.
The reason I brought up the privacy part is that the business models of social networks rely on them knowing a lot about you. They are motivated to find out more about you and serve you very targeted advertising.
With a different business model, perhaps we could build a social network that was better aligned with the best interests of its users.
And yes, @RockHoward, I agree online social networks are often full of many, shallow relationships and few deep ones.
Just thinking. Thanks for your thoughts.

[Brainstorm] A privacy-conscious social network with crypto-rewards
So what if there was a social network that encouraged user's control of their own privacy? What if it paid it's users in rewards for the value they bring to the network? And what if it were decentralized in both its technology and governance?
Is such a thing feasible? Is it possible? Does it already exist?
I know there is Diaspora and identi.ca. Are these "good enough"? What are they missing that has never allowed them to go mainstream? Would adding a crypto-rewards layer to something like this be a game-changer?
So those are my many questions without answers.
I would enjoy hearing your thoughts.

Re: UTipdMe - A Cost-effective Tipping Solution for LTBcoin
Sounds like we have a winner.
I'm finishing up on an auction machine during the few days, but I will return to work on CoinGrats next week.

Re: UTipdMe - A Cost-effective Tipping Solution for LTBcoin
Wow. That would be great. I consider UTipdMe a working title unless something better came along.
CoinGrats is a much better name in my opinion. What do others on this thread think?
It's primary use will be as an LTBc tipping service. But I do hope to expand to support other tokens in the future.

Re: [CLOSED] Auction for 1 Hour of Adam B. Levine's Time
@rob Regarding the auction that ended 7/27/14.
And I think @deweller didn't see my bid of 20K, and didn't realize dsmalone was bidding for second place, and so he needed to bid higher than 16K
Yep. That's exactly what happened. If I had only bid just ONE MORE ltbcoin. :)
No worries. And thanks for running this @rob.

Re: [CLOSED] Auction for 1 Hour of Adam B. Levine's Time
Oh. This must be the auction that ends NEXT week (August 3rd). I was confused. I'll leave my bids for now as I am sure they will be overbid.

Re: [CLOSED] Auction for 1 Hour of Adam B. Levine's Time
Can I place a bid for both tokens?
I'd like to bid 6,000 LTBc for one and a 12,000 LTBc for the the other.
Even at 12,000, I think this would be quite the steal. :)
