Re: PETAMINE.XCP - Mine bitcoin with your counterwallet! [Vote Complete]
@brkb I guess we're not getting those PETAMINE.XCP as a free distribution, don't we ;) But I got my TatianaCoin
hey thats a good idea actually. I wouldnt be opposed to giving up some of my personal shares in a giveaway :)
@hesham3del Let us rumble in the questions arena again :D
-
On what base I will get x XBTC, is it something that I've a control on ?
-
This PETAMINE mining, will it ever stop or it's a long term issue ?
- What is XCP and PETAMINE.XCP (the .XCP part) ?
Thanks again for begin friendly and supportive person @Cryptonaut
1) The amount of XBTC you get each week depends on how many PETAMINE you have and also how much the fund earned from the mining operation over the week. More thats invested the higher the dividend payout
2) PetaMine is a pretty large mining operation which has been going since around february of this year I believe. Over 1000 TH/s produced by their hardware. Right now they are mining about 100+ BTC every week. They seem to be going pretty strong so id say they are probably going to be around for quite a while still
3) XCP is the primary token used in the CounterParty protocol (you need it in order to create your own tokens). The ".XCP" of PETAMINE.XCP is just a naming convention I have been using to indicate that it is an asset built on counterparty, instead of something like MasterCoin (MSC) or Colored Coins (CC)

Re: PETAMINE.XCP - Mine bitcoin with your counterwallet! [Vote Complete]
@hesham3del Questions time again
-
Now if I hold PETAMINE, how it will be converted to XBTC ?
-
What is the benefit to converting to XBTC ?
- Could you tell me more about XBTC and EARNFREEBTC ?
Thank you.
Sure.
1) Once you have PETAMINE, just keep it (unless you want to sell it..). It will automatically give you XBTC tokens each week
2) There are a couple benefits to using XBTC. For one, it is much smoother/faster (and also a bit cheaper) to trade with on the decentralized asset exchange. Another reason is that it allows for public dividend history on blockscan.com . Like on this page: http://blockscan.com/assetInfo.aspx?q=EARNFREEBTC#dividends
3) EARNFREEBTC: http://earnfreebitcoins.com/xcp XBTC: https://forums.counterparty.co/index.php/topic,404.0.html

Re: PETAMINE.XCP - Mine bitcoin with your counterwallet! [Vote Complete]
@hesham3del Please correct me if I'm wrong.
-
Fund my new/current wallet at counterwallet with BTC.
-
Send any amount of BTC to 1CnYNtAztVEqNB8fYiUpX7qRUaCHjaTqp5.
- Each week, I will get my PETAMINE tokens dividends.
It's really only that easy ?!
close. You will get PETAMINE tokens right away (or within a few hours, basically shortly after I see the transaction). Holding on to those PETAMINE tokens gives you XBTC dividends every saturday (similar to current payouts from EARNFREEBTC, but based on bitcoin mining instead of website profits).

PETAMINE.XCP - Mine bitcoin with your counterwallet! [Vote Complete]
Note:
The PETAMINE fund is now closed due to popular vote and has turned into the SPECULATE token fund. See this thread: http://letstalkbitcoin.com/forum/post/petavote-result-new-token-bootstrapping-discussion
Original Thread:
Hey everyone
Introducing a new dividend paying asset built with CounterParty - PETAMINE , which is a pass-through investment fund for PetaMine shares on Havelock Investments.
Full disclosure: This is not officially run or endorsed (or involved with in any other way) with the actual PetaMine company, CryptX, Havelock Investments or The Panama Fund. The PETAMINE counterparty asset is issued and managed solely by me personally, at least for the time being.
A quick blurb on what PetaMine is:
PetaMine is a hosted mining project with current capacity of 1150 TH/s of hashing power. Each unit represents 1 GH/S of mining power with daily dividend payout.
Core hardware for the mine are the 28nm chip units from Cointerra and Bitmine and optimized chip from BitFury. These devices have outstanding specifications when it comes to power consumption and hashing power, which, in turn, means CryptX will be able to keep power and hosting costs at a minimum ($0.15 per GH per month).
More details here: https://www.havelockinvestments.com/fund.php?symbol=PETA
The deal / how it works
Every day, PetaMine (via Havelock) pays out dividends based on our current share holdings (1 share is about the equivalent of 1 GH/s hashing power). 48% of this daily dividend is used to reinvest and buy more shares and 2% goes to me personally as my fund management fee. The other 50% is saved towards a weekly payout to each holder of PETAMINE tokens. Due to the daily reinvestment, this means that over time, each PETAMINE token will represent more and more hashing power. (you may note that PetaMine themselves used to do a 50% daily reinvestment strategy, but have recently switched to paying out 100% of profits and letting each user decide their own reinvestment)
Every saturday, dividends collected during the week are paid out to each PETAMINE holder. Payments are made via XBTC, which is another counterparty asset convertible 1:1 with regular BTC, and also allows for easier trades on the decentralized asset exchange. For more information on XBTC, see here: https://forums.counterparty.co/index.php/topic,404.0.html
All BTC that is invested goes directly to purchasing new shares from Havelock. When new shares are purchased from direct investment, new PETAMINE tokens are issued and sent out.
Daily reinvestment strategy is subject to change via popular vote by existing investors.
Ok, so how do I get started?
- (If you haven't already) Sign up for a free CounterParty compatible wallet over at https://counterwallet.co . Fund your new wallet with BTC
- Send any amount of BTC or XBTC to the following address: 1CnYNtAztVEqNB8fYiUpX7qRUaCHjaTqp5
- Within 24 hours (transactions are processed manually currently) you will receive PETAMINE tokens back to your wallet based on the current PetaMine/BTC exchange rate on Havelock at the time it was received.
- Enjoy your weekly dividends!

I believe I have fixed the issue with the feeds, but looks like feedburner is taking a while to update on their end

Re: Where is the roundup?
@coinfire
@lovebitcoins Just noticed a new community roundup hasn't been posted. Are you guys still doing these?
They are my cheat sheet.
It is coming! It shows as published on my dashboard. @cryptonaut any reason it says published but doesn't appear?
It looks like there was a featured image uploaded for it, but no "cover image", so it wasnt showing up on the front page (we are not using the "featured image" field really at the moment). Its up there now but looks like will need a recropped version of that image

Re: Problem with iTunes feed and Podcasts iOS app
@turner3d It looks like the main issue may be with the "link" attributes of each item. Example:
/blog/post/lets-talk-bitcoin-134-disruptive-leaps
The "link" element must contain a full valid URL complete with http(s) and domain name.
The site, feedvalidator.org is also an awesome resource: http://feedvalidator.org/check.cgi?url=http%3A%2F%2Fletstalkbitcoin.com%2Frss%2Ffeed%2Fblog%3Flimit%3D15%26soundcloud-id%3Dtrue%26audio-url%3Dtrue%26sites%3D1%26categories%3D7%2C8%2C12%2C13%2C14%2C15%2C16%2C17%2C18%2C19%2C20%2C21%2C23%2C26%2C11%2C22%2C24%2C25%2C28%2C29%2C32%2C27%2C30%2C34
yeah, the issue is certain keyboard characters that keep sneaking into various posts and apparently are enough to cause the entire feed to invalidate and not be read.
