  • Re: Question about "authenticating the user" when replying to a post

@jeffski1 I was reading the article The Evolution of BitShares (Formally ProtoShares) and replied to a poster (@zaubergeld). When I hit submit, that message (You must authenticate the user or provide author_name and author_email) popped up next to a triangle with an exclamation mark in it.

ahh, sounds like it might be a hiccup on Disqus's end (disqus is the third party comment system we use for articles). does it happen to you every time?

  • Re: Get your LTBCOIN Address Now!

@asdlolciterquit So, dev you distribute this coin via forum?

the coin gets sent directly to the wallet address that you enter in your account settings/address manager

  • Re: Stellar - New Crypto by Stripe

@mike Darn -- you beat me to it. It is a carbon copy of Stellar. It launched all of 30 minutes ago. Jed -- one of the cofounders of Ripple basically said "screw you" to Ripple Labs for the way they were directing Ripple. He copypasta'd it (essentially) and launched it with a non-profit at the head instead of a business.

Also -- for anyone interested -- part of the initial giveaway is to send 1000 stellar to an entity and receive another 1000 in return. If you sign up, send the 1000 stellar my way (username: mjroncone) and I'll send 500 back.

Just ping me with your Stellar username here and I'll shoot it back.

(win-win for us both. You get 1500 in return instead of 1000 and I get 500. Cheers!)

    launch.stellar.org is the sign-up portal

so its actually just a re-boot of ripple basically?

  • Re: Watch Out for Scams - Fake Wall Street Journal -> Fake Blockchain.info -> Steal Your Moneys

sneaky bastards. i thought it was kind of strange that blockchain would be offering bitcoin loans..seems totally random

  • Re: Podcast Download Issues

@peeterjoot Also not working for me: "Beyond bitcoin - 11 - The NXT Economy" for example. Hit download all on my ipad mini, and watch it successfully download (or appear to). However, even after that explicit download, get:

This episode is temporarily unavailable from "Let's Talk Bitcoin!"

... despite the fact that it should be playing locally.

I'm using the ipad Podcast app version 2.1.2 (586), and iOS 7.1.2.

theres a delay between the episode going up on soundcloud (which is where that issue comes from) and the episode getting transfered to our main download server (amazon). should be working again for you fairly shortly

  • Re: The road to $100 in crypto per day

@joetothphoto I took a look at Havelock... how do I invest? Is it sendnng them bitcoins to work with or do I transfer funds to them?

they are a stock exchange. you send funds to your account there and you can use it to buy and sell shares in various companies. see here: https://www.havelockinvestments.com/reports.php most of them seem to be mining companies actually

  • Re: How well do you think bitcoin will do in the next 5yrs?

hold on to your hats boys this is gonna be a wild ride over the next several years

  • Re: The road to $100 in crypto per day

@belltown I'm very interested in investments part of Cryptonaut's question. In the past year I generated nice amount of BTC, I would love to invest into something safe. But my risk standards are very high, I haven't found anything what would meet the safety bar. The closest I found was investing into just-dice.com pot.

I have been investing in Peta-mine over at havelock and have been getting some pretty reliable dividends from it. getting like at least 0.005 BTC per day, but most of it I have just been reinvesting so far. They seem pretty reputable and they have a huge mining farm (over 1 petahash). havnt gotten into much of anything other than that lately as far as getting paid dividends goes. a lot of really risky investments out there or stuff that barely pays anything

  • Re: web app - usability improvements
