Re: The Red Pill Episode
@bitshaun I think explaining Bitcoin to first-timers has two big “don't s”: (1)anything political (libertarian, the Fed, criticisms of the dollar, problems with banks) and (2)mining
I strongly disagree about mining. I have had absolutely zero issues with talking to strangers about mining and the key here is to introduce the various concepts in the right order.
NEVER start with mining as a distribution mechanism, ALWAYS start with mining as a security review of requested transactions. People always agree that there should be some security feature that reviews all requested transactions and confirms that they are not cheating.
And I want to stress the "requested" part here. Reviewing past transactions has no value for people if they don't trust the mechanism in which new transactions comes in.
That said, the details of proof-of-work (hashing, nounces etc) is not relevant to newcomers, the only thing that matters is that it A) makes bitcoin secure and B) actually works.

Re: Family Economics - 400x400 Cover Image
The article is ready and I've yet to have a reply here. I'll try and have more time for this in case I write more articles, but for this one I've decided to just go with a creative common licensed image. (which is great, in itself.)
Consider this offer no longer valid.

Re: Three Form Identity
This is probably the most genius strike of simplicity that gives value to users that I've seen in a long time.
Let me explain:
I regulary post comments on the coindesk.com articles and I am well aware that some of my comments are well thought out while others are more like requests for comments - on my comment.
Whenever I get unsure about whether what I am about to say could either reflect on me badly or I'm unsure if it goes with my moral beliefs or not I tend to use random aliases for the comments instead of my real name.
This use case is something that I've maintained for a couple of months now and it's really opened me up to expressing questions and doubts about myself and my moral believes that I would not have allowed myself to openly discuss otherwise.
Today I posted my first article for the LTB network and as a result I decided that I need to change from being a lurker who scours this forum for evening leisure to a more proper profile and went ahead and changed my real name entry, my avatar from one of my cats to an image of myself and double-checked that my account now reflects me as the person I want to be when posting serious content on the LTB network.
This however means I've locked myself up as a publisher and should I gain a reputation I would then need to defend it and my ability to take standpoints which might be against my moral values for the sake of exploring the basic underlying arguments is now severely weakened.
Implementing multiple options for how I post (with different avatars!) might just be enough to allow me to test and see who "me" really is in the future, without having to put all of my identities at stake.

Re: Earn LTBC by Publishing Your Writings for LTB! All accounts now may compose and submit articles for the front page - Walkthrough inside!
@adam If it's in the past, it will be published immediately.
Thanks for the information. I set it to a few minutes from now but it's good to know I wont need to keep updating it.
You might want to update the main post in this thread to reflect this information in case others are having similiar questions.

Re: Earn LTBC by Publishing Your Writings for LTB! All accounts now may compose and submit articles for the front page - Walkthrough inside!
I have a piece I believe is ready for publication but the publication date confuses me. I want it to be published "when ready" but it kept the starting date (I think) which is now in the past and there's no clear indication what timezone the date relates to!
I'll take the timestamp from this post and use that, it should be proper and good, but you might want to make it more clear how it's supposed to be managed.

Re: Bitcoin Journalism is like 80% crap and much of it paid placement
I believe it's not worth the effort to try and change things into fitting the world we strive for, instead, we should just compete and create something of higher value to replace them. But then again, I'm sure you already know this Adam.

Re: ltbcoin is junk
How many LTBCOIN do you have, and how much do you want for them?
Also, you could add posts on the forum offering LTBCOIN for having the bugs you don't like fixed. You could even add posts on this forum offering LTBCOIN for having the bugs in counterparty you don't like fixed. I'm sure there is at least one counterparty/counterwallet dev keeping an eye on this space that would love some extra LTBCOIN for marketing purposes in the future.

Re: Front Page
I would like an icon to present this difference as well, when I'm on my phone I want to listen to podcasts and put away the phone in the pocket, not read articles.

Family Economics - 400x400 Cover Image
Hi. I will (hopefully) soon be in need of a cover image (400 x 400) for an article to be published on the LTB platform and I'm hoping someone can help me and will try a reverse bidding. If you're comfortable making some half-decent artwork to represent "family" "economics" that relates to bitcoin I'd like you to reply and tell me how few LTBCOIN you're willing to make the art for. Once I have the write interface enabled and a draft available I'll pick one of the artists from this thread and pay the LTBCOIN to have the cover image produced. (Given that the options I have are reasonably priced. If I only get one offer and it's for 10 billion LTBCOIN I'll obviously ignore it.)
You're more than welcome to link to other art you have done so I can take that into account as well as the price.
(The only requirements is that it needs to get accepted for publication on the LTB platform, other than that I have no stronger needs since I do not have a brand or reputation at stake, anything will do for me)
