    @CoinFire ping.

  • Magic Word

    I listened to todays show and I think at the end it was said that it will start next week. What I wonder is, will this be LTB exclusive, or will you share the word with content creators so that it can be included in other podcasts as well?

  • Re: [LTB][HIRING ] UI/UX DESIGNER

    @cryptonaut I beg you to reconsider. UI/UX has much less to do with graphic designa dn much more to do with human behaviour. At least make sure the person you get for this understands the concepts of 'intended audience', 'platform restrictions' and 'keeping it simple'.

    It is your call in the end, but no matter how shiny the art that gets produced is, it won't do any good unless there is proper workflow and context clues to drive your desired behavior.

  • Re: What skills do you have? What type of team are you looking for?

    @disengage @CrimsonRoze That's very odd. You aren't the first person to say that the first few comics are missing, but I can never reproduce the problem. It may have something to do with the caching, but even when I try different computers/networks, they all show up just fine for me. I'm sort of at a loss. You could try viewing the non-wordpress version of the site at http://comic.activelydisengaged.com, but some have told me that comics are missing from there as well.

    The non-wordpress does not work for me either. Being a webdeveloper though I started digging and the reference to the image is correct, the image is placed in the right place and if I access the image directly and skip the rest of the page the image works.

    Reloading a bunch of times I notice that the advertisment also randomly fails to load, although more rarely.

    I copied over the entire site to my local server and set it up there and got similar results.

    I then looked over my browser settings and disabled adblock+ on this page and the comic shows properly. Looking at the filename of your comic entries everything makes sense, ad1.jpg sure looks like the name of some random advertisment to adblock+.

    I sent in a report to them asking them to add an exception on their end "Some of the filenames of this webcomic is named ad1, ad2 etc (the comic is named Actively Disengaged) which makes adblock+ falsely identy them as advertisment."

    Hopefully that will fix the issue for your other users if they get an update from adblock+ or you do the right thing (tm) and name your files properly: actively_disengaged_1.jpg and the confusion will be removed immidiately.

    Cheers :)

    @adam

    @crimsonroze

    @adam Please edit this piece - use the "Excerpt box" for your copy.

    After reading this I went back to my article and removed my short summary I put in the excerpt box. I was told the excerpt box wasn't used. Seems that was wrong. Anyway, cleared it up so there's room in there now :)

    Actually I liked the summary so I went with it (I moved the copy appropriately)

    But its fine

    I have no clue what you just said means. Looked at the current excerpt and its' empty like I left it. maybe I saved over someones edit or something..

  • Re: What skills do you have? What type of team are you looking for?

    @Disengage The early comics seems to be unavailable. Please let me know if you fix that so I can read from the start since it seems to be a continous story and I like what I've seen so far.

  • Re: Referral Program?

    I assume that if your friend signs up now and he can confirm he was referred by you then it can most likely to back-fixed once released. Meanwhile he could make his contributions to the community instead of losing interest.

  • Re: The Red Pill Episode

    Another thought that just popped to my head: It needs to come off as humble or careful in the first part, and as confident and inspiring in the second part. If it's the usual trio of LTB that plans to do this I'd take Adam and Stephany for part 1->4, and Adam and Andreas for part 5->8.

    The reason for this is that Andreas uses strong language and is highly confident in not only bitcoin, but his own ability to explain it. Should there be some detail somewhere that goes missing its' important the the listener don't get hung up on it and instead "trusts" that there is a good solution behind it and Andreas confidence helps here.

    As others have noted though, politics and personal ideals tend to reflect on the arguments used so when putting things together you might want to look twice at the mindset you are presenting and maybe tone some parts down a bit.

  • Re: The Red Pill Episode

    My suggestions for episode structure for a Red Pill episode:

    -- There's no need to mention bitcoin a any time from here..

    1. Problems (How is cash, debit/credit cards, bank and debts bad?)
    2. Globalization (Is the aformentioned problems global, why do we need a global solution?)
    3. Decentralization (Seeing as previous attempts to solve these issues have been cenrtralized and failed, and we now have the internet and a good percent of the worlds population on it, could a decentralized solution be practical? could we empower regular people?)
    4. Desired outcome (What should paying and money look like?)

    -- To here, now it's time to talk bitcoin.

    1. Bitcoin exists. (Is it practical? Can you use it? Can you pay with it? Are the wallets userfriendly? etc)
    2. Bitcoin Security (Reviewing transactions, confirming history.)
    3. Bitcoin Transparency (Pseudonymous addresses, all transactions stored in the ledger, automated accounting etc)
    4. Bitcoin Today (Perfectly usable for early adopters, decent wallets, works for both small and large companies, will have matured withing the coming three years.)
