LTB Network Tutorials! Here's What We're Doing, What Are We Missing?
Hey everybody, Our system here at LTB has some really cool features you won't find anywhere else, but it's also not the easiest thing to use with hidden knowledge required all over the place!
Tutorials have long been requested, I'm finally ready to start making it happen along with anyone else who'd like to jump in and get involved.
Here's the list of what's coming, the format is short youtube videos mostly screencapture of using the site but I might appear, not really sure if it's worth the extra hassle for the appearance of more production values.

Re: Possible Solution to the spam problem
@franckuestein Interesting proposal @pooktwo.
As well, I think that now, the best thing we can do is help forum moderation team reporting all the comments that are spam. (That's what I'm going)
Ah for sure :) I Flag them as I see them, I wonder if i earn extra LTBC for that? lol
@adam I guess that is true, they would just shift to commenting on threads. What if the IPs got blacklisted from joining, or what if you added a captcha to anyone under 10 posts to even comments on a thread?
Anything we do to fight spam by making new user accounts not able to publish without jumping through hoops means we must also force new users who are not spammers through those same hoops.
True, and the spam isn't bad enough to where it needs to be crazy regulated yet, but i think the blacklist of IP would at least be good. I am assuming right now you have just 1 or 2 constant spammers because its the same topics and they are always posted around the same time of day I have noticed.
Again the core issue in blacklisting IPs is the spammers dont use the same IPs generally, but a normal user would use the same IP so if they get accidentally banned because we're mass banning spam than its quite difficult for them to let us know.
Just saying there really isn't a good answer because the spammers are incentivized to break through our doors while normal users can be turned away by just a little too much complexity

Re: Possible Solution to the spam problem
@pooktwo So I have been think on how to fix the issue with the spam and I think I have come up with a solution that might work, though I do not know how easily it is integrated within the site:
- In order to post a hotlink, a user must have at least 10 total posts
- In order to post a new thread, a user must have at least 25 posts
The problem with this is it just shifts spam to replies instead of new threads. At least with new threads they can be easily and quickly cleaned out.
