Sorry if this is the wrong place for this... But maybe others are having the same issues.

I have used the "swapbots" twice...

Why are you not given an option to give an address to send the coins to???

I found this very weird but just figured maybe it knew my LTB site address and continued...

I tried to buy 250 Tatianacoins, 1 XCPCARD and 1 Shumicard....

Both times the bot took my money no problem... Where the coins went... who knows?

Here's the address they went to 1NaKWarKp8Sj8ZNXngaFm3353f9JAMA7rS

I don't know who controls this address?

I'm sure I'm missing something that I was suppose to do...

Ok... Think I found the problem...

Dose the swap bot just send the tokens right back to the address you send from?

If so... Someone answer me this...

    1) Why.. Why did it not give me the option to pick the receive address?

    2) There should be in BIG RED letters as you make a swap "MAKE SURE YOUR SENDING FROM A COUNTERPARTY ADDRESS"

I might be way off here... any input would be great

    You are correct.

When you select the token you will pay with there is a notification that appears just below it:

"After receiving one of those token types, this bot will wait for 2 confirmations and return tokens to the same address."

I think my money is lost

Most of the swapbots do have the disclaimer that you must send from a Counterparty enabled wallet and that the token will return to the address that you sent from.

Technically, no you have not lost the token. You just had the token returned to a Bitcoin address. Since Counterparty runs on bitcoin, you should be able to sweep that bitcoin address into Counterwallet and then you will see the tokens you purchased.

Maybe someone can chime in on the steps for sweeping an address into CW. I have yet to do this.

While I would think the term swapbot would make the user think you are swapping a token from your address from a new token back to your address, I see how it can be confusing.

Maybe the lettering should be larger, bolder and red so that users do not make this same mistake.

The good thing is, your tokens are safe in a bitcoin address, you just need to figure out how to import it into CW.

It appears this link may be your answer, but I would wait for someone to confirm.

That is perfect advice. The funds are not lost, you just need a Counterparty compatible wallet to use them.

    Not bigger / more red....

I just believe at the MOMENT OF PAYMENT there should be some mention that using any other wallet beside a counter party wallet will result in a failed transaction.

Also, I spent the coins a while back not knowing they were "in" the KryptoKit wallet.

Thank for all the help guys :)

Just saw this, next time you can email [email protected] or click the "need help" link on all swapbot pages to reach customer support directly.

    To your point above

Also, I spent the coins a while back not knowing they were "in" the KryptoKit wallet.

Actually unless you've intentionally spent the cards you purchased to your kryptokit address, you still posess them. Unlike colored coins, Counterparty tokens (which the cards are) are "account based" so there is no possibility that you spent the bitcoin pieces that contained your cards. They do not contain your cards. Your cards are owned by your address.

I'm actually not sure how to bail out of kryptokit because it doesnt give you a private key, it gives you a brainwallet if i'm not mistaken. I don't know how to recover that in something outside of kryptokit but if you can figure out the private key for your kryptokit address you can import it into counterwallet.io

Re: bigger, more obvious warning yes I agree. The warning we have in place now has cut down the majority of this issue but one that is outside the description text would probably solve it.

Also, the swapbot sends tokens back to the address that paid it explicitly because it eliminates concerns of money transmission AND it makes it so swapbot addresses can function like satoshi dice used to, no interaction required besides sending tokens to the swapbot which means they're hugely more versatile than a vending machine that requires everyone use a standardized interface in addition to sending payment through the bitcoin network.

This will become more obviously valuable as time goes on.

    https://brainwallet.org/#converter

    Exporting a Brainwallet

Click "Export Brainwallet" under "Wallet Options".

The Brainwallet key for your initial randomly generated address will be a random string of characters. If you've already typed in a Brainwallet phrase, your address will have changed from the initial one generated through mouse movement, to the new one created/imported for the phrase typed in. If your first address has bitcoins in it, you can copy and paste the Brainwallet phrase to a file or write it down so that you can import the Brainwallet into another wallet service or into another instance of KryptoKit. It may be easier to move your money into a new Brainwallet with a phrase you can remember, however.

That all makes sense. Thanks for the response Adam, love your work.
