A new initiative from Danish crypto exchange CCEDK and the Beyond Bitcoin show aims to open the benefits of cryptocurrency to mass-market solutions, including social media users and content creators.

Bitcoin is fast approaching its seventh birthday, but although the idea of cryptocurrency is steadily gaining traction it has not yet found mass-market adoption or a ‘killer app’. The problem of market penetration is one that ShareBits.io hopes to address through targeting mass-market customers. Sharebits.io is a platform for open software solutions that bring mass adoption to crypto – making it fast, cheap and easy for organisations to distribute crypto tokens to large numbers of their users.

Freebie, the developer team behind Sharebits.io, delivers high scale, rapid-pace software solutions for businesses and professionals working in the crypto-sphere. The company has built its application on the BitShares platform Openledger, which has been designed for the rigours of the modern consumer marketplace – in contrast with the trailblazing but slow blockchain of bitcoin. Whilst bitcoin has ten-minute blocktimes and a low transaction volume (the matter of scaling and blocksize is one of bitter debate in the community), BitShares offers an impressive 60,000 transactions per second, confirmations that take a matter of seconds, and costs as low as a quarter of bitcoin’s fees.

Social communities

ShareBits’ Sharebot will allow companies and individuals to distribute tokens to users on a wide range of social platforms – forums, reddit, Facebook, Twitter, Qora and more. The aspiration is to bring the same financial freedom and empowerment to social media users that the internet and social media have brought to the sharing of information and content. It will allow brands to leverage their presence on these platforms by rewarding contributors and communities, creating new sharing economies outside of the influence of centralized financial institutions. Circumventing banks and payment processors allows the direct and low-cost distribution of financial rewards for beneficial activity.

Integration with CCEDK and their flagship ‘nanocard’ – a crypto-enabled debit card that combines the security and independence of the blockchain with the convenience of a bank card – means that users will be able to withdraw rewards as cash from any ATM. This will have far-reaching implications for content creators and other freelancers, people CCEDK hopes will power the rise of the new economy and new ways of remitting money.

Welcome promotion, affiliates program and reward tokens

ShareBits is built on the OpenLedger (BitShares 2.0) platform. As a special promotion, new accounts created in the month of November will receive the token QBits as a welcome. QBits is an asset created on Openledger for marketing purposes, based on the Qora cryptocurrency, allowing Openledger to reward all active users with something of value now and in the future. Additionally, users will be able to sign up to a new affiliates program, which will earn them income for every new user who signs up via their referral link (open to lifetime members and those with an annual subscription). Referrers will receive 60% of all fees collected from those they bring to BitShares.

CCEDK continues to add new and groundbreaking projects to its platform, including Qora and Qbits. To tie these projects together, the CCEDK team has created a special token named Obits. This will launch on 1 December (private sales already taking place) and will represent a broad portfolio of initiatives based on OpenLedger. Obits will give ordinary retail customers the opportunity to benefit from the signature volatility of cryptocurrencies, without requiring a deep understanding of the markets.

Yours Sincerely,
