I heard a podcast about bitshares music, perhaps it was on the beyond bitcoin podcast? I am only going on a few things that were mentioned, but it seems the blockchain will be a backend for the website and allow you to buy shares in any track, or artist you like, as well as a conventional payment system. You will recieve a % of future profits on the artist or track if you buy shares.

There is a website now that has better info (I was just piecing things together in my description above so that isn't anything concrete and could be off the mark).
