I loaded up a wallet fine the other day, and now I can't load up this one. It says counterwallet.co is currently on testnet, does that mean I have to wait until that has finished before I can get access back to my ltbcoin?

Either wait or switch from testnet.

Check the address you are using. Also you could try an alternative server. Above is a lost of production & testnet servers.

I figured it out. Must have been the network I was on or something. Switched computers and it worked fine.

They seem to have a nasty bug or two. When exchanging tokens for BTC on their platform (which often takes days for thinly traded assets) if the order is cancelled the tokens just seem to disappear. Happened to me twice. I won't be moving any one token into any other again.
And where are the competitors anyway? Offline wallet anyone?

yikes, that doesnt sound too good
unfortunately there is not really any user friendly desktop wallets for counterparty yet. There are a few GUIs if you are comfortable downloading and compiling source code. see here: https://github.com/CounterpartyXCP/
I would love to see a counterparty plugin for electrum or something
