I think everyone can see the value in tokens that represent assets, but there is obviously more innovation to come in this area. One thing that I haven't seen addressed yet is for tokens to have "availability zones"(to steal an AWS phrasing). I've read few a few different projects that represent a real world asset, like gold or green energy with a token, but it is sourced at a particular geographic location. So if you wanted to cash in your GenerCoin let's say, and you live in China, good luck with shipping on a ton of fuel from Canada. What I would like to see addressed in the actual protocol for these assets accept multiple availability zones, and each token being assigned to one zone . For example, if I was backing a token with iron ore let's say, I can choose in which region my particular token is actually available in. So then if I'm in China, I would hold my token in an Asian availability zone. I know it becomes complicated, as each zone may have different pricing forces, but I guess I'm more interested in starting the conversation rather than proposing a solution.
